Life’s Priorities

I have what some would call a privilege of working from home. While this can be nice there are down sides too. When you are home there is always something crying out for attention, the dishes in the sink, the hours collected on your DVR, books you have been wanting to read, etc. When I first started working from home I found it hard to divide my time, I found that I was working all day because I was talking longer breaks then I could working on site. after a while, and a few GTD*/working from home blog reading, I found that I needed to set time for work and stick with it. then I could take care of the house. This meant I had to get up on time to start work on time. since doing this I am more focused and relaxed in all areas of life, I am also getting more done over all. Because I have a 30 second commute I have more time for talking care of the important things in life, friends, family and God.

It may not be easy keeping a good schedule from home but there are a few bonuses that I right from the start:
    1) You can listen to music while you work (and I don’t mean whistling)
    2) You can wear whatever you want while you work (and I also don’t mean birthday suit)
    3) When you clean the kitchen after lunch you are only cleaning up after yourself instead of a whole office of messy people.
    4) You don’t have to put up with other people messing up your office space.
    5) You don’t have co-workers walking around meowing at you.
    6) You can adjust your own temperature settings to your preference.
I would be willing to trade with you even if for just a little while.
